High Intensity TRAINING
Restrictive Practice
Fortify Health Group is committed to encouraging both staff and students to continuously create, grow and learn. Our programs reflect this commitment, as well as the diverse backgrounds and cultures of our trainers assessors and students alike.
ABOUT THIS TRAINING
Restrictive Practice
This high intensity program is delivered by AHPRA Registered Nurses with expertise in supporting clients with mental illness.
Restrictive practice means any practice or intervention that has the effect of restricting the rights or freedom of movement of a person with disability. Under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018 certain restrictive practices are subject to regulation. These include seclusion, chemical restraint, mechanical restraint, physical restraint and environmental restraint.
This training program is designed to give support staff the tools to follow a positive behaviour support plan (PBSP) and implement restrictive practice. At all times, the PBS practitioner is responsible for the PBSP plan and will have their own strategies for providing these supports.
