This program will allow support staff to support clients who have a diabetes management plan developed and overseen by a health practitioner such as a registered nurse or doctor. Staff need to have been trained by a health practitioner such as a registered nurse and have access to the management plan before providing these supports.

Developed for support workers providing assistance to people who have Enteral Feeding needs.

This program is designed for support staff to be able to provide supports to clients who are at risk of seizures and have an epilepsy management plan insitu.

Quick decision making is required to recognise and assess a cardiac emergency, call for medical assistance and perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures which will increase the chance of survival for a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally.

You will learn basic anatomy, physiology and the differences between adults, children and infants relating to CPR, the importance of the chain of survival, written and verbal reporting of incident details, reviewing incidents to improve own skills and response times, to recognise psychological impacts, and seeking help as required.

This program has been designed by clinical nurse educators to equip nurses with the skills to provide IDC and SPC insertion and changes according to a clients care plan.
